Most of the clothing shops in the French Quarter put a mannequin or two out front displaying unique dresses. I am always stopping and snapping a shot. Here are some from my travels. Some shots are from my iPhone and others using my DSLR with a Lensbaby attached.

Living here in the City of New Orleans there is always something going on. A friend recently asked “is there a weekend ya’ll don’t parade?”. Probably not. Because just walking down any street in the French Quarter you will see a ‘parade’ of characters, amazing individuals living the life they choose. That’s what I like best about my home. It’s a place where we feel comfortable about who we are not who we want to be. At least most of us.

I have become a bit obssessed with the iPhone and its capabilities in producing very high quality images. Of course you can’t just point and shoot and still get great shots. The basic principles of photography still apply.

While taking walks with Miss Sybil I am always finding interesting things to photograph. Below are a few examples of flowers, leaves and plants.
